Alex Mercer: It is Monday evening, January 19, 2026. This is the Prediction Market HQ: Daily Sports Evening Edition. I’m Alex Mercer, and with me is Marcus Webb. We’ve got the national championship on the line tonight and a massive slate of NHL action. We are moving fast, so jump in your prediction market app of choice with us—as always, we’re tracking the movement on Polymarket. Marcus, the markets are reacting to a wild MLK Day schedule. Let’s get into it. Marcus Webb: High volume today, Alex. The morning positions were a mixed bag, but we’re seeing clear conviction on the late-breaking data. Let’s look at the board. Alex Mercer: Before we hit the new plays, we have to do the roll call on our morning picks. First up: How is that Milwaukee position looking after the early tip in Atlanta? Marcus Webb: That’s a winner. The Bucks took care of business against the Hawks, 112-105. If you were on the Bucks Moneyline at the 64-cent open, you’ve already cashed. Action: Win. Alex Mercer: What about the Thunder in Cleveland? That was a heavy public play this morning. Marcus Webb: We took a hit there. The Cavs’ defense held firm for a 108-102 victory. That Thunder Moneyline position is a total Loss. Action: Bail. Alex Mercer: Moving to the ice, we had the Hurricanes hosting Buffalo. Did the Canes hold home ice? Marcus Webb: They did. A 4-2 win for Carolina. We liked them at 61 cents this morning, and they delivered. Action: Win. Alex Mercer: We’ve still got some active ones. How’s the Avalanche position against Washington? Marcus Webb: As we sit here now, the Avalanche are holding a 3-2 lead late in the third period. They’ve been dominant in the offensive zone, but the Caps are pushing. If you’re in this, we are sticking with it. Action: Hold. Alex Mercer: And finally, the Knicks and Mavs at the Garden. Where do we stand? Marcus Webb: At the time of recording, the Knicks are up 55-50 at the half. It’s a grind, but the Knicks' interior defense is making the difference. Action: Hold. Alex Mercer: Alright, let’s pivot to the Late Breaking Plays. The big one: Miami versus Indiana for the National Championship at 7:30 PM Eastern. Indiana is trading at 72 cents on the Moneyline. Marcus, do we trust the Hoosiers to finish the perfect season? Marcus Webb: Absolute conviction here, Alex. We are backing Indiana’s high-efficiency offense—currently 4th in Success Rate—against a Miami defense that completely plummets to 78th on early downs. This mismatch is amplified by Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza’s elite form. Miami is also severely shorthanded; they’ve lost weapon Elija Lofton and have defensive back Xavier Lucas suspended for the first half due to that targeting call in the Fiesta Bowl. Indiana has outscored playoff opponents 94-25. If you can still get Indiana under 75 cents before kickoff, take it. Alex Mercer: Next up, the 8:00 PM ET puck drop in Vegas. The Golden Knights are facing Philadelphia, trading at 78 cents. What’s the read? Marcus Webb: This is a pure mismatch of form. Vegas is on a seven-game winning streak, while the Flyers have dropped six straight. The big news just broke: Flyers’ starting netminder Dan Vladar was placed on IR today. That leaves a depleted Philly roster facing Jack Eichel, who is on a torrid eight-game point streak. With Vegas recently adding Rasmus Andersson to the blue line, their depth is just too much. If the Knights get an early lead, this price will vanish. Alex Mercer: Finally, we have our Dog of the Day. We’re looking at the Wild taking on the Maple Leafs in Toronto at 7:30 PM ET. We are taking the Wild (+1.5) Spread, currently trading at 48 cents. Marcus, why the points here? Marcus Webb: It’s all about the absences. Toronto is missing William Nylander with that groin injury, and their power play has regressed to 32nd in the league recently. Minnesota is missing Boldy and Eriksson Ek, but they showed incredible grit in Buffalo on Saturday. Kirill Kaprizov had three assists in that win, and the new chemistry with Quinn Hughes is real. Minnesota’s 3rd-ranked High-Danger Save Percentage should keep this within a goal, if they don’t win it outright. At 48 cents, the value on the spread is the sharpest play on the board. Alex Mercer: Let’s do the Master List recap for the night. We are Holding the Avalanche and Knicks from the morning. Our new adds for the evening are: Indiana Moneyline at 72 cents, Golden Knights Moneyline at 78 cents, and our Dog of the Day, Minnesota Wild +1.5, at 48 cents. Remember, those 7:30 PM starts are coming up fast, so get your positions set. Marcus Webb: The markets are moving, Alex. Let’s see if Indiana can make history. Alex Mercer: We’ll be watching.
