Alex Mercer: It is Friday, April 17th. I’m Alex Mercer and this is Prediction Market HQ. We’ve got a massive night of MLB action on the board and the sharp money is starting to consolidate. We’re tracking late movement and adjusting our exposure before the West Coast window opens. We encourage you to jump into Kalshi or your prediction market app of choice with us; as always, we will be using Kalshi’s data to track where the sharp money is moving. Marcus, we’ve got four positions to manage tonight. Let’s get into the Daily Sports Evening Edition. Marcus Webb: Let’s do it. The board is active and we’ve got some heavy conviction on these late adds. Alex Mercer: Alright, let’s start with the morning roll call. First up, we were monitoring that AL West clash—Texas and Seattle. How’s that position looking now? Marcus Webb: We are staying the course. Morning thesis is completely intact, Alex. We’re holding at 0.5 units. Right now, the market is trading at 55 cents, but we’ve got the fair probability pegged at 57 percent. That two percent edge is holding steady. We haven't seen a reason to re-price this one yet, so we’re letting the 0.5 units ride. Alex Mercer: Right. And what about Baltimore and Cleveland? We had high conviction there this morning. Marcus Webb: As we sit here now, at the time of recording, we are in the bottom of the 1st and it’s a scoreless tie—Orioles 0, Guardians 0. We’re holding our position. The conviction hasn't wavered. If you’re looking at live markets, just be careful with the volatility in the early frames, but our pre-game math still holds. Alex Mercer: Okay, let’s talk about the new noise. We’ve got two late-breaking plays hitting the board. The first one is a heavy Lead Play in Anaheim—Padres at the Angels. Marcus, you’re going big here? Marcus Webb: One and a half units on the Angels moneyline. It’s trading at 62 cents right now. Look, the Padres are on an eight-game heater, I get it, but they’re running Matt Waldron out there for his 2026 debut after a stint on the IL. On the other side? You’ve got José Soriano. The guy is a machine right now—leading the league with a 0.33 ERA and a WHIP under 0.70. Alex Mercer: A 0.33 ERA? That’s video game numbers. You’re fading the eight-game win streak purely on the pitching mismatch? Marcus Webb: Exactly. The market is giving the Padres too much credit for the streak and not enough for Soriano’s elite form. If you can get the Angels anywhere near that 60 to 65 cent range, that’s where our conviction is. Alex Mercer: Love it. Second late add—we’re headed to Fenway. Tigers and Red Sox. Marcus Webb: This is a one-unit value play on the Red Sox run-line—so Boston to win by more than one and a half. It’s currently trading at 48 cents. The big news here is Detroit’s Kerry Carpenter being sidelined with that lumbar spine inflammation. He’s their primary power source, and without him, this Tigers offense is thin. Nick Pivetta is on the mound for Boston, and Detroit has been abysmal on the road lately—only two wins in their last ten away from home. Alex Mercer: Yeah, Detroit’s struggled to even put up three runs in those road games. Taking the Red Sox to cover the spread at 48 cents feels like a sharp pivot. Marcus Webb: It is. The math says the edge moved significantly once Carpenter was confirmed out. Alex Mercer: Alright, let’s lock the roster. We’ve got 4.0 units total on the board tonight. We are holding 0.5 units on Texas at Seattle—that one starts at 9:40 PM Eastern. We’ve got our hold on Baltimore and Cleveland which is live right now. Then the late adds: 1.5 units on the Angels moneyline at 9:35 PM, and 1.0 unit on the Red Sox run-line at 7:15 PM. Marcus Webb: It’s a busy card, Alex. The Angels play is the anchor, but that Red Sox value is too good to pass up given the Tigers' injury situation. Alex Mercer: Get those positions in before the first pitches. We’ll be back Sunday for the Ledger Recap to see how the week closed out. Marcus Webb: See you then. Alex Mercer: Opinions expressed are for informational purposes only. Bet responsibly.
